Prof. Ashraf Badawi is currently a Professor of Dermatology at the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences, Cairo University, Egypt and a visiting Professor of Dermatology at Szeged University, Hungary. Dr Badawi has graduated from the Faculty of Medicine Cairo University, Egypt in 1992. In 1997, he obtained the MSc degree in Dermatology and Venereology followed by a Diploma in the Laser Applications in Biology and Medicine in 1998 from Cairo University too. In 2001, Prof. Badawi obtained a Diploma in General Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. In 2007, Prof. Badawi received a PhD degree in Laser Applications in Dermatology from the National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences, Cairo University, Egypt. In 2011, Prof. Badawi obtained a second PhD in Clinical Medical Sciences from Szeged University, Hungary. During his career path, Prof. Badawi has actively participated in more than 350 International Dermatology conferences with lectures and workshops. Within the past 20 years He was directly involved in training of more than 3500 Dermatologists all over the world for Laser Applications in Dermatology and aesthetic Dermatology.

Prof. Badawi has several international publications in the field of Aesthetic Dermatology and laser applications in Dermatology and is:

Vice-President

Albert Wolkerstorfer is a staff member and Principal Investigator at the Department of Dermatology and at the Netherlands Institute for Pigment Disorders, Amsterdam University Medical Centers (Netherlands). He earned his medical degree at the Medical Faculty University of Vienna (Austria) in 1994 and received his PhD at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam in 1999. He graduated as dermatologist in 2005 at the Free University Medical Center in Amsterdam. His academic areas of interest extend to laser dermatology and pigmented disorders. In both fields he combines clinical and translational research with clinical practice at the outpatient department of dermatology.

He published more than 200 Web of Science indexed publications and has various international affiliations: Advisory Board of the Global Vitiligo Foundation, Member of the Vitiligo Task Force, Vice-president of the European Society of Laser Dermatology, Key Officer Education of the European Society of Laser Dermatology, co-chair of the European Task Force on Laser dermatology, and member of the scientific Secretary of IMCAS.

Secretary General

Dr. Ahmed Sadek, MSc, DBA is a Dermato-Venereology Specialist, Vice Manager of Cairo Hospital for Dermatology & Venereology (Al-Haud Al-Marsoud) based in Cairo, Egypt.

He was born in 1979 & graduated at Ain-Shams Medical School, Cairo in 2002. He achieved Master Degree in Dermatology & Venereology in 2009 & Diploma Degree in Business Administration (Major: Hospital Management) in 2011. He is currently a Candidate for PhD degree in LASER Applications in Dermatology.

At his workplace, he is the Hospital’s Vice Manager for Training & CME. He previously served as Head of the Training Department, CME Program, Head of the Research Unit, Head of the Dermoscopy Unit, Member of the Scientific Committee as well as Residents' Manager. He is also owner & manager of Dr. Sadek Clinics. In addition to being an Executive committee member & Social Media Key Officer of ESLD, He is an Executive Board Member of the International Dermoscopy Society (Representative of Africa) as well as a Board Member of the Egyptian Society of Dermatology & Venereology in addition to being a Member of many international societies.

He delivered 60 international, > 700 national presentations & 110 courses, in addition to 16 publications. He trained > 1600 doctors both theoretical & practical in various aspects of dermatological diagnostic and therapeutic skills via Hands-On Workshops in addition to being Instructor, Lecturer & Course Moderator at the Arab Medical Union. He is a peer reviewer for four journals & a member of the editorial team of two others.

Treasurer

Dr. Johan Snauwaert works as a dermatologist in a private practice in Brasschaat, Belgium He graduated in 1982 from Medical School at the University of Leuven, Belgium. In 1986 he was board certified in Dermatology and obtained certification from the Educational Commission for foreign medical graduates, Philadelphia. He then was appointed with a scholarship from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery at the Dermatology departement of the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in Munich under mentorship of Prof. dr. Braun-Falco. During this scholarship he had the opportunity to work in the laser department of Prof. Michael Landthaler.

Dr. Snauwaert participated in several national and international conferences as lecturer. From 1997 to 2007 he was national delegate at the UEMS section Dermatology-Venerology. In 2002 to 2006 he was consultant for the SNNDV, the Belgian-Dutch society for post-graduate training of dermatologists. From 2005 to 2009 he was nominated president of the Belgian Professional Dermatology Association. From 2014 to 2015 he was president of the Royal Collega of Physicians in Antwerp, Belgium. Since 2012 he has been consultant for the Centre Europeen de Normalisation (CEN) an co-author of European Standards on Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr. Jiryis is a medical doctor at Rambam Health Care Campus, Haifa, Israel.

He was born in 1997 and completed medical school at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion at Haifa in 2022. Dr. Jiryis completed couple of laser training courses including a course on Harmony XL PRO laser system in Ceacarea, and the ESLD hands-on laser and EBD teaching course in Athens.

Since 2021, Dr. Jiryis works in the Laser unit at Rambam Health Care Campus. His work mainly focuses on treating patients with medical and aesthetic indications using ablative and non-ablative laser platforms. Dr. Jiryis has special interest in clinical research, he has been invited as a speaker to several national conferences, the last invitation was by the Israel Society of Dermatology and Venereology to present in the annual conference.

Although he has not yet started his dermatology residency, Dr. Jiryis is involved in a number of clinical research projects and has managed to publish a number of articles about lasers in medical practice. His recent publications in scientific journals in the field of Dermatology include Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Mycoses.

Doctor Uskov MD PhD, founder and President of the Estonian Society for Laser Medicine (www.elas.ee). Medical founder of Confido Laser Clinic and Dr USKOV CLINIC in Estonia. Since 2023 teaching his own courses on laser dermatology at the University of Tartu (Estonia) and on Laser Medicine Basics for Nurses at Tallinn Health Care College.

Dr MENZER is a board-certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. 

Dr Menzer completed his medical training in Heidelberg, Germany, with several international rotations in the U.S., Spain, Singapore, and Latin America. Following his residency and board-certification in Dermatology, Dr Menzer completed a fellowship in Oncologic Dermatology at the National Center for Tumor Diseases (Heidelberg), and a Research Fellowship and rotation in Laser Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York). 

He is now head of Laser Medicine and Cosmetic Dermatology and deputy head of the Section of Oncologic Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology, University Hospital Heidelberg, Germany. Dr Menzer has an academic interest in Cosmetic Dermatology, Laser Medicine, and Oncology with several international publications.
